A couple of weeks ago, we talked about how some of life’s most important lessons aren’t found in classrooms. They come through experience.
Today, I’d like to invite you to reflect on a different question.
Not:
What should I do next?
But:
What kind of person am I becoming?
Sometimes we search for the next answer while overlooking the wisdom we’ve already gained.
Life has a way of teaching lessons we never expected—if we’re willing to listen.
Sometimes the lesson is patience.
Sometimes it’s learning to trust yourself.
Sometimes it’s accepting what is.
Sometimes it's setting healthier boundaries.
And oftentimes, the qualities you once saw as weaknesses turn out to be strengths.
Reflection Question
What is one lesson life has taught you that no classroom ever could?
Reflection Prompt
Think about a challenge, disappointment, or season of change you’ve experienced.
Looking back, what did it teach you?
How has it shaped the person you are becoming?
If you’re highly sensitive, introverted, or socially anxious, perhaps you’ve learned that needing more time, more quiet, or deeper connections doesn’t mean something is wrong with you.
Maybe you’re simply learning how to honor the way you were created.
Extra Credit
Choose one small action that helps you keep learning.
Try something new.
Read something that expands your perspective.
Ask yourself a deeper question.
Try a different approach to something you do every day.
Spend quiet time reflecting.
Final Reflection
This week, spend a few quiet moments finishing this sentence:
The person I am becoming is someone who...
Don’t worry about finding the perfect answer.
Growth isn’t about having everything figured out.
It’s about remaining curious enough to keep learning and willing enough to change when life calls for it.
Every season of life has something valuable to teach us.
Class may have been dismissed,
But your story is still unfolding.
And some of your greatest lessons may still lie ahead.
